1. Vietnam Visa for Australian Citizens
Australian citizens are required to obtain a valid visa to enter Vietnam for tourism, business, family visits, or study purposes.
To be eligible for a Vietnam visa, applicants must meet the following entry requirements:

Australian passports must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of arrival in Vietnam.

Passports must contain at least 2 blank pages for visa stamps.
2. How to Apply for a Vietnam Visa for Australian Citizens?
Australian citizens can apply for a Vietnam visa through one of the following methods:
2.1. Embassy Visa
An Embassy Visa is issued directly by a Vietnamese Embassy or Consulate. Applicants must complete the visa application process and receive approval before visiting the Embassy or Consulate to obtain a visa sticker in their passport.
Application Process:

Applicants submit an online application form and pay the approval fee.

After approval, applicants receive an approval code via email.

Applicants print the approval code and visit the designated Vietnamese Embassy or Consulate in person to pay the stamping fee.

The Embassy or Consulate reviews the approval code and issues the visa sticker in the applicant’s passport.

2.2. Vietnam E-Visa for Australian Citizens
Vietnam E-Visa is available for Australian citizens and is valid for:

Single entry only;

A maximum stay of 30 days.
The E-Visa can be used to enter Vietnam through selected:

Land border checkpoints;

Seaports.
Applicants should check the approved list of entry checkpoints before traveling.
E-Visa Application Process:

After approval, applicants receive the E-Visa electronically.

Applicants print the E-Visa and present it to the immigration officer upon arrival in Vietnam.

Immigration officers scan the QR code on the E-Visa and stamp the passport.
2.3. Visa on Arrival (VOA)
Visa on Arrival (VOA) is considered one of the most convenient options for travelers entering Vietnam by air. This type of visa is accepted at all international airports in Vietnam.
Visa on Arrival Process:

Applicants complete the online application form and pay the approval fee to receive a pre-approval letter.

Applicants print the pre-approval letter before departure.

Upon arrival in Vietnam, applicants present the pre-approval letter to the immigration officer and pay the stamping fee.

Immigration officers compare the pre-approval letter with the passport information and issue the visa sticker accordingly.
